I'm Dr Hattie Hearn, a curator, historian, and writer. My current research looks at the history and heritage of the Eighth US Army Air Force in the Second World War, an area of history that I get to explore in depth as Curator of the American Air Museum at IWM Duxford.

When I'm not in the world of museums, I love nothing more than delving into the archives and unearthing hidden histories. Through my research, I've helped throw light on a range of subjects, from old country manor houses to long-lost ancestors. As well as carrying out research for clients, I've also worked as a researcher for television, including seven episodes of the Smithsonian Channel's 'Air Warriors'. My first children's book, 'Tales of World War Two' was released in October 2023 by Neon Squid (an imprint of Macmillan). My first 'grown-up' book is scheduled to make an appearance at some point in 2026. Watch this space.
